During the fall 2015 election campaign, NWT voters were clear: you want your government to be transparent, responsive and accountable. You want to be involved and heard by your representatives, the cabinet, and the decisions made by the GNWT. You want input into the major decisions and directions that affect you, your family, and your community. I have heard this and I am committed to supporting openness and transparency in the business and decisions of the Government of the Northwest Territories.
“The territorial government must work hand in hand with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to define needs, define workable solutions, and determine the direction of the government. We need to make it easier for individuals and organizations to engage with government if we are to collaborate in the development of programs and policies that help produce a strong, vibrant and economically successful territory… and our government must commit to being inclusive and cooperative in working with communities and aboriginal governments.” Cory Vanthuyne, Hansard, Dec. 14, 2015
